It Starts With The Leather
Not all leather is created equal. We source only full-grain leather — the highest quality cut from the hide — known for its durability, natural texture, and the way it develops a rich patina over time. Each hide is carefully inspected before it ever reaches our workshop. We're looking for consistency in thickness, minimal blemishes, and that unmistakable suppleness that only premium leather has.
The Cut
Once the leather is selected, our craftspeople cut each belt strap by hand using precision templates. The width, taper, and length are all measured to exact specifications. This isn't a step we rush — a clean, straight cut is the foundation of a belt that will last for years.
Designing the Stud Pattern
This is where the magic happens. Our design team sketches out the stud placement — whether it's a single row of pyramid studs down the center, a scattered edge pattern, or a bold geometric arrangement. Every pattern is intentional, balancing visual impact with wearability. We prototype each design on a sample strap before committing to production.
Setting the Studs
Each stud is set individually by hand. Using a setting tool, our craftspeople press each piece through the leather and fold the prongs flat on the back to secure it in place. Depending on the design, a single belt can have anywhere from 100 to over 1000 studs — each one placed with care to ensure alignment and a secure hold.
Finishing Touches
Once the studs are set, the belt goes through a finishing process: edges are burnished smooth, the leather is conditioned, and hardware like buckles and keepers are attached. Every belt is then inspected one final time before it's ready to wear.
